Completed Heritage Album

Saturday, July 23, 2011 - after midnight....

Well after many months of working on this heritage scrapbook album for my mother-in-law, I have finally finished it today and gave it to her earlier this evening in time for the family reunion. They are expecting 60-70 people and I look so forward to getting to meet all of them. I made 2 lbs. of pasta salad earlier and am finally sitting down to watch a little Hogan's Heroes with my husband before bed.

Here are the last two layouts that I created for the album earlier today. Both layouts use supplies from the Bo Bunny Timepiece Collection. I have to say that not much is left at all from the collection pack, brads, trinkets, etc. that I bought for this project. I used up all but a few scraps of the patterned paper in fact. It's a good thing that I also used papers from the DCWV Tattered Time and Mainstreet stacks as well. There are a total of 25 layouts in this entire album.

This first one's of my mother-in-law, her dad, brother and cousin. Sketch inspiration from the Jana Eubank sketch blog...

And this last one is of my husband's Great-Uncle Tom from 1945. I used another sketch from the Scrapbook Generation sketches book for one page layouts. This was great for using up what little scraps that I had left from the Timepiece collection pack..

I also made an envelope using my Martha Stewart scoreboard and some heavy Bazzill cardstock that I adhered to the inside back cover. Inside are a couple of CDs with the heritage photos that I used for this album in case anyone would want a copy of some of them after the reunion. My mother-in-law can just pop them into her computer and e-mail them to whomever. The envelope is held shut with some velcro...

Thank you for following along with my blog as I created this album these past several months. It's my biggest scrapbook project that I've completed thus far and I really enjoyed it. Good night....

Three More Heritage Layouts

Hi Everyone,

I haven't been able to post to my blog this past week because the power supply to our laptop bit the dust. It's the only computer in the house that works with my SD card(s). My husband ordered one off E-Bay but it has yet to show up, so he made a new power supply out of two old ones. It'll work for the time being until the new one shows up. Needless to say, I've been busy these past several days working on my mother-in-law's heritage album while my husband has been staining our deck out back. He's almost done and is taking the day off tomorrow to finish the posts on the bottom. It looks really nice now and I love the color of the stain. I got three layouts done so this is gonna be a longer-than-usual post today.

Let's get started....

Scrapbook Generation just recently released two more sketch books for scrapbooking - Volume #8 for two-page layouts, and Volume #1 for one-page layouts. They arrived this past Tuesday and I put the one-page layouts one to use right away for this heritage album. I am primarily a 2-page scrapper, but every once in awhile I do scrapbook a one-pager. This whole heritage album is nothing but one-page layouts, so this new sketch book is definitely nice to have. It has sketches for anywhere from 1 to 6 photos....

Anyhoo, the following three layouts were all created using sketches from the Vol. #1 for one-page layouts book...

Patterned papers from the DCWV Tattered Time stack (with the exception of the really skinny strip - that came from DCWV Mainstreet)

Bo Bunny Timepiece Collection - title, stickers, clock brad

Tim Holtz Sizzix Hanging Sign steel-rule die, Big Shot, chipboard, eyelets, jewelry chain, jump rings. I colored the chain with  ginger alcohol ink. I inked the hanger with Walnut Stain Distress Ink, covered it in clear embossing powder, and hit it with my heat gun. Love the effect it gave.

Well that's all for now. Gonna go join my husband and B. for a late-night swim in the pool. Our first one this summer. I was just about to head out when B. came in crying because something stung her on the top of her thumb when she grabbed the pool ladder. Poor baby. I put some Sting-Eze on it and she says it feels a little better now. We get these wood-boring bees here and they have become a nuisance. I hope it wasn't one of those that stung her.
