My Mother-in-Law Gave Us A Scare, It's a Boy, and Recent Scrapbook Layout

My mother-in-law ended up being taken to the hospital by ambulance Thursday night a little after 1:00 a.m. for chest pains. She had been getting them for three nights in a row and wasn't going to tell anyone about them. Apparently, she must have said something to my father-in-law Thursday night when they started again, and he called my husband's brother (who's a nurse) to get over there quick. He went to give her one of her nitro pills, but she was out of them and she was getting cold and clammy and not talking right, so he called 911 and the rest of the us. By the time the ambulance showed up, she was being argumentative, so evidently she was starting to feel better. She was in the hospital all weekend. Her EKG came back good. They did a stress test on her yesterday and she's having a heart catheterization tomorrow morning. My sister-in-law (who's also a nurse) seems to think it's her hiatal hernia but MIL does have heart problems (had a heart attack back in '96 when she and FIL were on vacation down in Florida), so I hope they figure out what is going on with her. She said that it felt like the chest pains she had when she had her heart attack years ago. My mother-in-law needs to slow down and stop doing so much. But she won't listen. She turns 77 a little over a week from now.

Earlier that day, I took B. to the mall after school with me to look at some home decor stuff they have in one of the stores there. I ended up taking her for a slice of pizza for an after-school snack and decided to try and get her hair cut at the salon I just had my hair cut and highlighted at within the past couple of weeks. She has been wanting to grow her hair long and has been refusing getting a haircut since we had it cut right before school started back in August of last year. I told her I just want it evened out and it would look nicer with some long layers put in. My husband's cousin's wife, Missy, happened to be working and so she cut B.'s hair and she ended up curling her hair all over (B. asked her if she would please do it). I didn't expect her take the time to do all that, but it sure made B. happy and she wouldn't stop taking selfies of herself afterwards and looking in every mirror she passed by. lol!  Missy did a fabulous job and B. and I were both pleased with her new look and it was nice getting to visit and talk a little while with Missy plus we saw B.'s teacher from first grade there. Afterwards, once we were back home, she was still taking selfies and I asked her "what are you doing?" Her response was "What? I'm really fond of my hair." lol! She's just starting to learn how to use a curling iron and is still awkward with it. So getting her hair curled is a huge deal for her. It sure made her day!

In the meantime, my poor husband was on his way home from work and ended up being the eighth car back when they decided to stop traffic to do blasting up on the hillside. This is on a main road that has had major rock slides in the past. They've been working on it for a really long time already. The signs say that when they are doing blasting in the area the wait would be 15-20 minutes. Not. My husband ended up sitting there along with a bunch of other people for a whole hour. Ridiculous. Traffic was backed up for miles.  And they decided to do the blasting when people are coming home from work. *sigh*

Before we left to visit my husband's mom in the hospital Friday night, B. got a text from Ashley with a 3D picture of the baby and said that she and Sean were having a gender-reveal party that night. By the time we got home from the hospital, she had sent a video showing her opening a huge box to reveal whether she was having a boy or a girl. It was filled with blue balloons and so they are having a boy!!

Well here is my latest layout from this past week....

I used a Colorbok scrapbook kit that came in a big 12x12 tin from Big Lots that I got more than several years ago. My daughter was four years old in these pictures and was into Strawberry Shortcake back then.

That's all for now. Til next time....
